The newest major update for GTA 5 Online dropped a little while ago in early December, but there’s a whole lot to keep players busy even now. The long awaited mansions have now been constructed and available for a luxurious community of the elite. You can become one of these mansion owners and take part in a new questline with a familiar face. This is everything you need to know about the new Safehouse in the Hills update content.

🏰 The Brand New Luxury Mansions
The biggest addition to the Safehouse in the Hills update are the mansions themselves. Before the update officially dropped, there were already major hints of this heavily requested feature. Players had to complete missions while the luxury community area was still under construction. đź’µ The Richman Villa
The Richman Villa has a name that screams lavish and indulgence. The style of this mansion is meant to give players the feeling of importance in the world of Los Santos. Themed after political figures or celebrity properties, this manor is placed alongside the main roads in the upper hills of the city. You’ll get to overlook the area with a lengthy expanse filled with pools, hot tubs, yoga mats, and lots of night party room.
đź’¶ The Tongva Estate
The Tongva Estate is, as you can guess, located in the Tongva hills. This location gives you the massive view of the Pacific Ocean which is perfect for taking your helicopter over. Oh yeah, did we forget to mention that you get a helicopter? This manor is perfect for those that prefer a more coastal and beachy view to match your new luxurious lifestyle.
đź’· The Vinewood Residence
The Vinewood Residence is the third and final option you can pick, but it’s a good one. This has the most direct view over the Los Santos city. Right below the Vinewood sign, you can bask in the sunset while enjoying the view from up above the city skyline. The mansion also has the easiest access to the city, so this location is perfect for those looking for something a little closer to home.
🏋️ The Mansion Amenities & Upgrades
Every mansion has its own set of amenities that they share that make getting one all the more worth it besides bragging rights. The majority of these amenities are more for roleplay purposes such as the yoga mats and gym equipment. However, this and the pools are great ways to hangout with your friends and add some detail to your home. You can even have kennels for your pets to stay and sleep in!
There is, of course, the new garages and upgrades you can add to your new home. The garages and rooftop helicopter pad add space for your vehicle collections. With the helicopter, you can travel quickly through the skies to important destinations like missions or ambushing players. There’s even a private vault and salon to protect your deposited earnings and customize your avatar whenever you’d like.
Speaking of privacy, there’s more where that came from. Through the upgrades, you can have an Armory and Vehicle Workshop connected to your mansion. Both will not only store your weapons and vehicles, but provide a quick way to buy more and upgrade the ones you have. No need to fast travel to any shops! If you own an Arcade business, you can also have it connected to your mansion to make some extra money on the side.
🎉 The Mansion Night Parties
Similar to how you’d run the Nightclub business, you can actually run night parties in your mansion’s ballroom. Here, you can enjoy the drinks as you mingle with your visitors and dance with friends all night long. You won’t get any major income out of this feature, but it’s still a nice one to have. The more GTA$ you have, the more NPC visitors are likely to show up to have some fun.
📸 KnoWay Out & Michael’s Missions
Alongside the mansions, a new branch of solo Contact Missions have also been added to GTA 5 Online with a special guest appearance by Michael De Santa. Even if you don’t have a mansion purchased yet, Avi Schwartzman will call you about a terrifying revelation. KnoWay, the autonomous driving technology company, is working alongside the FIB to create a mass surveillance network. Against this, it’s up to you to disrupt these efforts.
However, if you manage to get through all five Contact Missions, the story doesn’t stop there. Once you buy a mansion, the Mission “Home Sweet Home” may start. The news about stopping the surveillance operation has gotten out, and now you and Avi are being hunted down. This is where Michael can help you as you fight your way through armies of money-hungry mercenaries.
